AURORA
and i give you my heart ... the reflection of my soul ...
This glow from a faraway horizon - the sunrise if you will - the radiance that knows no boundaries as it crosses vast landscapes, indiscriminately bathing everything it touches with a warm, golden luminosity. The shadows of doubt cower away and a new hope is reborn.
× webmistress
Hello out there! I'm the webmistress of Frozen Hourglass and all of its sub-sites. I'm known as Ice Archeress around the internet although I did go by a different name before my recent reinsurgent back into the world of the internet. Anyone who was a member of a Beyblade fandom while it was at its peak may know me because I was a quite a presence around those times.
I'm a 21 year-old university student who is in her fourth year of her Commerce degree, majoring in Accounting with a minor in Computer Science. I do dread school and can't wait to get out. My true loves are web design, sleeping, pasta, and Kirihara Akaya. I kid you not - give me all of those and I could isolate myself from the rest of the world. I'm not a fan of the heat/hot weather/summer, politics, or sycophants - oh, and all insects should die. Vegetarian by choice and proud of it!
An introvert extrovert because while I treasure my alone time, personal space, and privacy, I do like spending time with close friends. I'm victim to several mood swings a day, mostly of varying versions of anger, but none of that takes precedence over my happiness. Constant censorship of my mouth is necessary because, while I strictly forbid myself to use profanity, I'm usually tactless when I speak and very prone to rubbing people the wrong way. I'm a very conventional person who usually has a rough idea of her daily schedule from the time she climbs out of bed till the time she crawls back in. Most change is evil and I would have none of it if possible. Competition is healthy and valued and it makes me a better, if not, a more ambitious person.
More disjointed randomness about me...though I dislike most insects, those that fly scare me more than those that don't. For that matter, those that cause harm are the worst of all - therefore, bees, wasps, hornets, yellowjackets, etc. will all send me away running for my life and screaming on the top of my lungs. Never encountered a coachroach head on - never want to. I snicker during political campaigns, especially when the words "believe" and "change" are used. Driving freaks me out, yet I want to do it sometimes. I've gone 24 hours without a minute of sleep once only (not because of studying through) and never again. If I had a choice, I could sleep in bed all day. Talking on the phone is such a chore, can't we just do the face-to-face thing? I'm not impressed by people who beat around the bush nor am I afraid to give it as it is. I've never attended a wedding before...wonder what I'm missing out on...
I love travelling as much as I love staying at home and doing nothing. I've only been to parts of Western/Central Canada, parts of Western United States, and Taiwan, which is not nearly enough to make me settle down. Currently, my biggest dream is to go to Japan and raid its anime stores. I'm also very keen on going to New York City, Disneyland, and Toronto at some point in my life. Furthermore, I want to do an European tour of most of the major European countries when I get enough cash to do so. There's also a map full of other places I'd love to visit if I ever get the chance.
I adore watching anime, much more so than reading manga, although I do quite like the latter as well. My favourite anime series off the top of my head are Yuu Yuu Hakusho, Hunter X Hunter, Hikaru no Go, Prince of Tennis, Saiyuki, and Ouran High School Host Club. Let me assure you that the previous list is a very small represenation of all the anime I've watched. I've seen 100+ series and counting. Yes, I'm a firm believer that while some dubs are marginally painless to watch, most make my ears bleed - so watch subs to save your life. I mostly enjoy shounen, sports, fantasy/adventure, and well-rehearsed shoujo comedies. Unless you catch me on a good day, I'm usually don't like mecha, harems, or parodies. Well-developed characters are the soul of an anime and a sensational plot is the heart.
Although I spent significantly less time reading manga, I find that fluffy, romance shoujo is better off in its print form than on screen. Keeping that in mind, I've made a point to read most of Yuu Watase's works, which are brilliant and beautiful in the manga, but don't quite do it for me in their anime counterpart. I quite like reading gender benders and have a whole list I want to read eventually. While not in the least a yaoi fan, I love Gravitation. But Hanazakari no Kimitachi e take the cake in my manga department - still confused as to why isn't made into an anime and strongly convinced that this is the best manga ever.
By no means do I have unique music taste - my motto is that if it sounds pretty, listen to it. I like the generic bubblegum pop and soft rock along with j-pop/j-rock courtesy of anime and c-pop. You'll never catch me listen to jazz which is sleep-inducing, I can stand some Japanese or Chinese rap, English rap - no thanks. Melody comes first for me, the meaning of the lyrics or whether they have meaning at all is merely an added bonus. My favourite song is Symphonic by Emm Gryner.

Never been much of a sports fan nor do I know the rules for any sport for that matter, but in the past couple of years I've become an avid supporter of the Vancouver Canucks hockey team of the National Hockey League (NHL). Yes, I love the Canucks even though we've never won the Stanley Cup before. No, just because I'm a fan now doesn't mean I always was, so I don't really care about the Canucks' history. If Markus Naslund played better with Todd Bertuzzi then, good for him - as far as I'm concerned, his presence alone helps the team. I'm simply concerned with the team now and I still say that we have a pretty fine group of players.
Alexandre Burrows (#14) is my first love on the Canucks and I can't imagine watching this team without being able to shriek his name every time he scores a beauty or lands a hard check. Kevin Bieksa (#3) is my all-time favourite player because he's such a crafty defenseman who's not afraid to throw his physique around and make a few sneaky plays for the team's favour. I'm also very partial to Ryan Kesler (#17), Taylor Pyatt (#9), Brendan Morrison (#7) - unlike most Canucks fans, I'm not on a goalie high. As of late, Mason Raymond (#21) has stolen what's left of my heart because of his adorable boyish looks and random cute qualities.
Ranting is my anti-drug. In all honesty, this whole page just seems like it was one big blurb of it. Still reading? I salute you for your impressive tenacity - thanks for dropping by and I hope you found at least a sliver of something worth your time during your stay. Come back again!
